Aug 7, 2023 · ReShade is a popular addon for many games which allows the application of multiple postprocessing shaders such as bloom, fake HDR, SSAO, sharpening and depth of field. GShade was a custom built ReShade program which worked well with FFXIV and prevents clashes with the UI, while also coming with an easy installer and almost all the required shaders. Be sure to use the Reshade version which supports Addons (so the unsigned version). When you start your game, the Addons tab in the Reshade gui should show the ReshadeEffectShaderToggler information and controls. To create a toggle for a set of shaders, open the reshade gui and go to the addon's tab -> Reshade Effect Shader Toggler area. The ShaderFixes folder goes to your FFXIV installation inside the game folder, alongside the ffxiv_dx11.exe. shader_replace.addon goes into your Add-on search path directory. It does not remove GShade's executable file. This guide will help you do that. If you already uninstalled it, reinstall it. Sounds weird, I know, but Historically people switched from Reshade to Gshade because Gshade was easier to install and had some features that only were usable on Reshade with a lot of hassle (like depth shaders), eventually Reshade made that easier but by then everyone switched to Gshade and generally people were happy until the recent shitshow, but current iterations of Gshade and Reshade are basically the same.
