I use CXBX Reloaded. Click on Settings > Hacks > Speed Hacks > then disable "Run Xbox Threads on all cores". That was all it took. Now keep in mind, the intro logos are still sloooow as shit. But the game actually got past the first episode for me after disabling that one speed hack setting.
